Murrumbateman Progress Association (MPA) is a community based, not-for-profit organisation that supports the Yass and Murrumbateman region in New South Wales. They provide legal and statutory cover and support to assist members in their community with rural activities and improved standards of living. The organisation supports the ongoing growth of the town and urges residents to get involved as a part of the local community.
MPA did not previously have a website. They were looking to create a custom website for their organisation to keep the members of their community updated with news and upcoming events. The organisation also had to ensure that the various groups associated with MPA were represented through the website. Their new website needed to maintain the consistent feel of their branding with an approachable community-minded feel, and demonstrate the various ways that the organisation works to support the community.
We worked closely with stakeholders from MPA to discuss their website requirements and ways to increase community engagement. We ensured that we thoroughly understood the branding of the client and their target audience.
We approached the design of the new website to give a professional yet approachable design that aligned with the MPA’s branding. The new website for the organisation featured an intuitive structure and visuals of colourful overlays constructed from various rectangular elements of different sizes.
Once the website design was approved, we created an HTML mock up for the Murrumbateman Progress Association website. We optimised the user experience with engaging elements such as parallax features on images and social media feeds, as well as subtle mouse over effects. Our design successfully increased community engagement, giving a clean and easy to navigate community platform that was also easy for staff members to edit from the backend.
Once the website went live, we supported MPA’s website for 2 months. Project handover also included backend training for staff to easily manage content changes in the backend on their own and a comprehensive backend reference document for staff members to refer to.
As a part of the ongoing support period, we also continued to work with Murrumbateman Progress Association for basic SEO, optimising their website performance and to gain visibility. This support included 24/7 monitoring and bug fixing as well.
