Our Client
The Egg Boat, created by Claystone Pottery, is a beautiful, nontoxic, dishwasher safe egg poacher that produces consistent, perfectly poached eggs time after time. The team at Claystone Pottery is known for finely designed cookware and tableware of restaurant quality.
Their Challenge
The team at Claystone came to us with an interest in updating their website. In particular, they were looking for a local Australian agency. Their old website lacked a clear structure and did not represent the product well.
Our Action
We proposed creating a concise, single-page website which allowed users to easily learn about the Egg Boat and purchase from a range of options available. After gathering all the requirements from the team, we set out on creating a unique website that would help boost both the quality of the site and the brand.
Web Design & Experience Design
Restructuring the content provided to us, we were able to maintain a simple, yet effective website design which hid additional information through the use of pop-up sections. Doing so allows users to easily navigate through and make a purchase, or investigate into the story behind the Egg Boat through interactive pop-ups with their own unique imagery and content. While subtle, this experience allows the website to easily split two user journeys on the one page.
Custom Web Development
To enhance the experience, carousels and animations for the pop-ups were developed into the frontend of the site. Our team also integrated a PayPal payment system as requested by the team at Egg Boat.
Branded Design & Other Content
One major area of work within the project was content creation. Originally, we planned on creating a video showcasing the process behind the use of the Egg Boat. However, after much consideration, we decided to proceed with a step-by-step illustration which would be the highlight of the homepage and be outlined with accompanying step-by-step instructions on the ‘Cook's Guide’ pop-up. In order to connect with the current minimalistic branding of Egg Boat, a line art illustration was created which flowed through the various steps seamlessly.
In addition, our team created custom iconography to enhance the various sections found throughout the website.

Overall, with the help of the creative minds at Claystone and our expert team, the revamped Egg Boat website better showcased the product, its story and provided an enhanced user experience through branded design and unique content.
