Dana’s Pantry is the brainchild of Sunita and Sunjay, chefs and business owners of the growing Daana restaurant and catering franchise in Canberra. Aiming to grow their offerings beyond the restaurant, catering, and cafe options, the Daana team wanted a solution that reached into the homes of their loyal customer base. What better way to do that than joining the meal kit and ready meals revolution and having their delicious menus delivered directly to local homes for fans to cook up themselves!
Aiming to be a major player in Canberra’s food scene both on-site and in people’s homes, the dream of Dane’s pantry was the best way to grow their business as a subscription-based food delivery service.
This idea of meal kits and ready meals, already existing with a growing market, required the right development solutions to ensure customers had a positive experience with ongoing subscriptions and deliveries.
With careful planning, the Daana team developed Dana’s pantry to be unique in the market, where all of their meal kits included pre-prep food and proportioned condiments and seasonings. The aim was to be one of the simplest male kids on the market while also offering ready meals, with a focus on Quick and Easy or Slow and Easy Recipes, as well as a focus on reduced food waste. Customers would then be able to choose from both depending on what suits our lifestyle or needs of the week, with a rotating menu changing week to week.
We worked carefully with the team at Donna to design a simple and competitive website front-end that encourages signups and showcasing of delicious meals in a simple, time-saving format. We used bright colours along with the Dane branding to entice customers, incorporating appropriate calls to action and mouthwatering food imagery.
We created a Shopify solution for the data team to easily manage orders, subscriptions, label printing, and workflows in-house on a week to week basis. Our development team implemented the right solutions including the ability for Daana’s customers to easily change meals or make amendments, and for Daana’s team to seamlessly manage the backend.
We also integrated marketing automation solutions so that we could easily keep Daana Pantry’s clients in the loop with reminders and periodic discounts or new offerings. Overall, using a combination of strategic design and ongoing marketing solutions, Diana’s pantry has hit the ground running as another arm of the many food-related offerings that Daana offers across Canberra.
