Account Manager - Canberra

About Us

We are a leading Australian digital marketing agency that needs an enthusiastic, self-starting Account Manager to join our growing family in Canberra. From SEO to websites to social media, our experienced team offers research-driven digital marketing services to a diverse range of clients from start-ups to NPOs to SME. We are on the hunt for the new face of our Canberra office to help drive sales, manage clients, and support our team in this dynamic all-rounder role commencing from January 2021. 

The Job

A regular day might look like this: you could be checking emails and making follow up calls to potential clients before heading off to a meeting. There you’ll be out there thinking on your feet as you discuss growth opportunities for a new lead. You might be making sales proposals, liaising with clients, and working collaboratively with our creative team to help produce content and deliver a range of marketing campaigns. Hours will be flexible in this part-time position of 25 hours per week in this largely autonomous role. 

About You

This position will be ideal for someone who is looking to apply their skills and attention to detail across a range of marketing tasks. We’re looking for someone who’s hungry to learn, and ravenous to achieve results. Strategic thinking plus social and digital media skills would be a bonus along with sharp writing skills for different platforms and audiences. As you will be communicating closely with our team and our clients (often to tight deadlines), this Account Manager role requires someone who is naturally hardworking and highly personable to support our sales department and content production. If you love a challenge, can work independently, have great attention to detail, and are armed with creative problem solving & negotiation skills, get in touch! 

Job Duties May Include:

  • Client liaison alongside other key personnel
  • New business development with clients via existing relationships and proactive lead generation
  • Develop strategies for securing leads and sales
  • Writing sales proposals
  • Manage the handover of new business accounts to the office management team
  • Project management including undertaking requirement gathering processes, project planning & coordination
  • Drive the entire sales cycle by identifying/pursuing opportunities to expand and add value
  • Develop and execute both traditional and digital media campaigns
  • Social media strategy development
  • Social & website content production & distribution
  • Aid production team and help coordinate workflow through the studio
  • Copywriting, blog writing, and editing support
  • General account management and support when needed
  • Contribute to the overall direction & growth of the agency

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Client & customer relationship management experience
  • High level of organisational & time management skills
  • Excellent written and phone communication skills
  • Strategic problem-solving skills & proactive customer service
  • An understanding of traditional, social and multimedia platforms
  • Ability to work cohesively within a team and independently when required
  • A high level of attention to detail and analytical ability
  • Experience with public speaking
  • Social media management experience
  • Have a positive attitude to work in both a team and unsupervised environment
  • Adaptable, innovative thinker & self-motivated
  • The ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
  • Positive, can-do attitude and willingness to learn

  • Marketing-related qualification
  • Previous sales experience would be an advantage
  • Copywriting and creative production skills an advantage
  • Experience in graphic design/website maintenance/digital media skills would be an advantage
